Between Tides is a visual conversation on the ebbs and flows of life’s seasons from the perspectives of painters Shannon Dickie and Monika Rosen. Water and its dynamic expressions flow through canvas and multimedia to symbolize the fluidity of memory, perception and emotion.

Through the lens of Shannon Dickie, the shifting tides speak to the journey of one’s 30s, within the context of motherhood and moving to a new city. Shannon’s softly blurred paintings represent the moments of memories and their ephemeral nature, the quiet beauty in the transitions of life.

Monika Rosen’s undulating, interior landscapes embrace the seasons of a journey towards healing and mental health resilience. Blending figurative realism with vibrant, painterly brushwork, she evokes the rhythms of time, emotion, and our vital interconnection with the natural world.

Together, their work drifts in and out of the visible and the felt, inviting viewers to sit within the in-between. To reflect in the stillness and the movement, holding space for where transformation continues to unfold.
