In this series of oil and acrylic paintings, I reflect on the nature of duality on a personal level by attempting to reveal and embrace competing psychological elements within. I am interested in the exploration of the things (be them emotions, frameworks, techniques for coping, etc) that may have once served us, but now work against us in our desire for growth as individual human beings.
Embrace is about the gift of giving pause, compassion, and understanding to ourselves, in all of our brilliant light and murky, self-sabotaging shadows.
